The actual launch of a Hot Air Balloon rides takes no more
than half an hour after arrival at the launch site. The balloon
and basket are carried in a trailer. Once at the launch site
the basket and dual burner frame system is assembled by
the pilot and balloon crew . The hot air balloon 's 30 million
Btu burners are test fired by the pilot. The basket is laid on
it's side, and the Patriot's red white and blue fabric is pulled
out of it's bag. Steel cables from the 'envelope' are attached.
The balloon is inflated with an industrial fan and the whole
system is given a 'walk around' inspection by the pilot. Up to
4 passengers get in and the balloon lifts off the ground
effortlessly, and the exhilarating Hot Air Balloon Ride
begins!
